NISSAN, TOYOTA, FORD, GM, AUDI and other well-known automobile brands sell cars equipped with CVT transmissions. The annual output of CVT cars worldwide has reached nearly 500,000. It is worth noting that the car market equipped with CVT has penetrated into the North American market from Japan and Europe at first. Therefore, continuously variable transmission cars are the main trend of today's car development.
Our country has a huge automobile sales market, and the automobile industry is one of our national industries. However, the automatic transmission (AT) required by China's automobile industry is all dependent on imports, which makes domestic cars equipped with ATs, the cost increases greatly, and the equipment develops and produces CVT transmissions by themselves, and the cost increase is not large, indicating that the CVT market prospects are exciting optimism. At present, my country is considering the development of automatic transmission for cars. Since the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" period, the development and research of car metal belt continuously variable automatic transmission has been included in the country's major scientific and technological research plan to track the development of world technology and develop vehicles suitable for my country's national conditions. On April 17, 2010, China's first self-developed CVT continuously variable transmission was successfully rolled off the assembly line in Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. Compared with foreign countries, Chery's CVT transmission can reduce the cost by 50%.
In the last ten years, CVT technology has taken a big step forward, making CVT more competitive than mechanical transmission MT with more than 100 years of history and automatic transmission AT with more than 50 years of history. CVT technology is at the beginning of its life cycle, and the characteristics of CVT will be further improved.
